Brenna’s Ultimate Christmas Movie Lineup

I am obsessed with Christmas movies. For real… I remember growing up and watching The Grinch (the Jim Carrey version) during summer vacation just because it is that good. Anxiously awaiting the release of the “ABC’s 25 Days of Christmas” schedule, and never being disappointed that it’s pretty much a mash-up of the same movies over and over throughout the season.

So naturally, as I got older I had to build a Christmas movie collection of my own. I’m what some would call “a crazy Christmas lady”. Come the first of November I am already dragging out all of my ornaments, lights, and other decorations ready to put up the tree.

I wanted to share my love (ahem – obsession) for Christmas movies to share my ultimate “12 days of Christmas” movie list – in no specific order. These are my all time favorite Christmas movies, but please share your favorites in the comments below!

muppets    home alone   grinch

arthur christmas       nightmare before xmas     the santa clause

deck the halls         grinch - cartoon          year without santa

christmas vacation       elf   home alone 2

Christmas Vacation is probably my all time favorite Christmas movie ever. Mostly because Chevy Chase is ridiculous. But also because I have watched it every Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember.

I love creating new Christmas traditions with my husband – like adding Home Alone to our Christmas Eve movie playlist because it is his favorite and making copious amounts of Christmas cookies.

Honorable Mentions – Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, Frosty the Snowman, and A Christmas Story (Still great Christmas movies, just not my all time favorites)

Now go have a Christmas movie marathon cause…..

almost christmas

  1. I would add Love Actually and The Holiday to this list. I’m also a huge fan of Edward Scissorhands (not typically considered a Xmas movie, but definitely is!)

    Love this list, Brenna!

    1. I haven’t seen Love Actually or The Holiday, so I will definitely have to check those out! I can definitely agree with Edward Scissorhands – I mean the best parts are in the Christmas scenes!! (Also why I added Nightmare Before Christmas)

      Thanks, V! Miss you!

  2. I just watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation this weekend! I’m hoping to watch Scrooged too! The 80’s classics are the best. 🙂
